Introduction

The Dunedin Gasworks is a piece of New Zealand's history in the books.
Maintaining this place of history is a valuable re-minder of an industry that was once vital to the country, but has almost vanished without trace.

The Dunedin Gasworks Museum is now closed and it was New Zealand's first and last gasworks, operating from 1863 until 1987.  This museum is one of three known preserved Gasworks in the world, having that chance to visit this place is well the memory.

The Museum is open every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 12.00 until 4pm noon and every Tuesday from 12.00 until 4pm noon.
